Resep Mudah & Cepat Kentang Tumbuk/Mashed Potatoes

Bahan:
Kentang
Susu
Bumbu perasa (garam, gula, merica, Italian seasoning, dll)
Parsley kering (optional)

Cara membuat:
1. Bersihkan kentang lalu potong dua
2. Masukkan kentang yang sudah dipotong ke dalam kotak makan (seperti lock&lock) tutup tanpa dikencangkan, dan masak di microwave hingga matang.
3. Ketika kentang sudah matang, kupas kulitnya dengan mencubit kentang, kentang akan langsung terkupas dengan mudah.
4. Tumbuk kentang dan beri bumbu, tambahkan susu hingga kentang dirasa cukup lembut.
5. Sajikan dengan parsley bubuk dan sepotong butter (jika suka).

 Lebih cepat & mudah  daripada harus merebus kentang, hasilnya pun tidak terlalu berai.

Quick, Fast & Easy Mashed Potato

What you need:
Potatoes
Milk
Seasoning
(e.g. salt, pepper, Italian seasoning)
Parsley flakes (optional)

How to proceed:
1. Split each clean & unpeeled potato into two parts.
2. Put the potatoes in a lunch box with lid then microwave until it becomes soft and tender.
3. When the potatoes are done, pinch them to easily peel the potatoes.
4. Mash the potatoes, add some seasonings and milk until reached desired consistency.

ps. You can add extra butter if you like :)

Much easier and faster than boiling the potatoes :)

Ikea Meatballs (Swedish Meatballs) Recipe - Halal version

Swedish meatballs biasanya pakai campuran minced pork dan minced beef (daging cincang). Untuk membuat meatballs halal, kita pakai minced beef saja, ya. Biasanya pork digunakan karena mengandung banyak lemak, sehingga meatballs lebih gurih & creamy. Alternatively, bisa juga pakai lemak sapi cincang atau tambahkan cooking cream di adonan meatballs.

Bahan Meatballs:
Daging sapi cincang
Breadcrumbs (Aku pakai merek 365 superindo seperti Panko)
Italian Seasoning (Aku pakai McCormick)
Parsley (Aku pakai parsley kering botolan) - Kalau tidak ada bisa di skip
Pala (Aku pakai pala utuh di-grated sendiri)
Black pepper
Garam
Gula pasir sedikit
Telur kocok lepas
Susu

Bahan Saus:
Bawang bombang cincang & tumis
Butter
Tepung terigu
Air kaldu daging (aku pakai bubuk kaldu sapi dicampur air, bisa pakai maggie/knorr block juga)
Cooking cream (bisa diganti susu tapi kurang creamy rasanya)
Black pepper
Garam sedikit jika air kaldu belum asin
Gula

Cara:
Meatballs
1. Tumis bawang bombay dengan sedikit minyak. Bagi dua, setengah untuk campuran meatball, setengah untuk saus.
2. Campur breadcrumbs dengan susu, sisihkan. Campuran susu sedikit saja, kira-kira tercampur sampai breadcrumbs terlihat seperti oatmeal, jangan sampai basah.
3.  Di mangkok besar, masukkan daging cincang, campuran breadcrumbs & susu, tumisan bawang bombay, Italian seasoning, parsley, pala, black pepper, garam, dan gula, aduk rata. Setelah tercampur rata tambahkan telur secukupnya, jangan sampai terlalu basah. Bentuk bola-bola, simpan di kulkas.
4. Setelah selesai membuat saus, panaskan wajan datar, beri olive oil sedikit dan masak meatball hingga kecoklatan dengan api kecil. Jangan balik meatball sebelum kering supaya tidak hancur.
(Ps. Jika suka meatballs yang sangat lembut/seperti bakso, campur semua bahan dalam food processor & tambahkan cooking cream)

Saus
1. Untuk membuat saus, pertama-tama kita buat roux dulu. Lelehkan butter dan masukkan bawang bombay tumis. Setelah butter cair, perlahan masukkan teppung terigu, sedikit saja. Sebagai gambaran, untuk 2sdm butter hanya butuh tepung terigu sebanyak 2sdt (silahkan ditambah jika ingin kental).
2. Aduk butter cair, tepung terigu, dan bawang bombay cincang selama beberapa menit hingga tercampur rata dan rasa tepung hilang.
3. Masukkan air kaldu & cooking cream, aduk.
4. Tambahkan black pepper & cicipi. Jika kurang asin, tambahkan garam sedikit. Jika terlalu asin, tambah air dan gula sedikit.
5. Masak hingga mengental & mendidih.

Penyajian:
:: Siram saus di atas meatballs, taburkan parsley bubuk dan sajikan dengan mashed potato atau kentang rebus.
:: Alternatif lain, masak meatballs di wajan hingga setengah matang dan campurkan ke dalam saus, masak hingga meatballs matang.

Resep ini hasil trail & error percobaan aku sendiri, setelah membaca resep online dan lihat video di youtube. Memang ngga pakai takaran, hanya kira-kira saja. Alternatif lain dari resep ini scroll down ke bawah ya.

Benefit Brow Experience at Sephora Indonesia

(Just a continuation from my previous post, but you don't need to read that first to read this) 

After paying for my purchase, I saw Benefit's principal from Singapore was visiting the counter along with some Ladies for Benefit Indonesia, and a BA who was doing someone's eyebrow. I asked the ladies some question and she prompted me to get my eyebrow waxed. Benefit has promotion in Sephora that if we purchased any Benefit product for Rp 750.000, we can get free eyebrow wax service.

I told the ladies I wasn't sure about the waxing but I would love to do the eyebrow mapping. So I waited until the lovely Benefit BA mba Indri done with another customer to get my turn.

Brow mapping is basically knowing the exact location of where is the start, highest point (arch), and the end of your eyebrow. My biggest pet peeve when doing eyebrow is sometimes the right and left are not similarly drawn. I tend to draw more pointy brow on my left, idk why.

You can get your eyebrow mapping at Benefit for free, just come to any Benefit Brow Bar in Sephora. You can also just pay "ala carte" for the wax service. Here's the menu.

After the BA finished doing other customer's eyebrows, now it's my turn. I told her that my biggest concern is that sometimes when I draw my eyebrow they're not symmetrical to each other. She then measure my eyebrown using this brow ruler, which I really want to buy but they don't sell it (I'll just use measuring ruler then) and start telling me where should I draw my eyebrow. Here's the tool she used.

After that she used Benefit Brow Zings Brow Shaping Kit (Rp 447.000) to fill in the eyebrow.

And finished with High Brow Glow pencil (Rp 350.000) to highlight the brow bone and the area above the brow.

and resulted in make up artist-quality beautifully shaped eyebrow :)

here's a little more about brow mapping

1. The start of your eyebrow should be in the same line with the side of your nose bone.

2. The arch of your eyebrow should be horizontally lined with the outer side of your nose and your pupil (ruler should passed by the middle of the pupil) 

3. The end of your eyebrow should be horizontally lined with the outer side of your nose and your eyes' outer corner.

Lipstick Exchange at Sephora Jakarta

A few weeks ago I bought this Sephora Outrageous Rouge Extreme Liquid Lipstick (Rp 233.000) because I ran out of my everyday Max Factor Lipfinity Liquid Lipstick (Rp 115.000). I bought the Sephora ORELL on a whim, tested on my hand and paid for it.

When I got home, opened the packaged and tried it on my lips, ohhh it was waaaaay sticky for my liking. I thought it would have the same texture as Max Factor LLL or Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick (Rp 300.000) that dries matte and feels very light on the lips. Apparently NO. Nothing like that. I decided I might as well return it because I know I'm not going to use it.

So the day after I went back to Sephora to return it. After few questions and such, the BA told me that they regretfully cannot accept the return because the plastic sealed packaging has been opened. I wasn't sure about their exchange policy here in Indonesia, because in other Sephora like US and Canada, you can exchange the product even though it has been opened. I thought they have the same exchange policy.

So I went home and tweet @SephoraID and ask them for their CS email. Below was their reply:

I did kinda wonder why they use gmail address instead of those sephora.co.id or whatever webmail that they have but nevertheless I email them asking for refund policy and such, and here was their reply.

So few days after I received the email I went back and showed them the email & the receipt. At first I talked to the kind BA named Steven who said that all is well and I can just choose whichever product to replace it and if the product I chose is more expensive then I'll just pay the remaining. I went ahead and grab another product then back to the cashier to pay for it.

Another shop assistant greeted me (not Steven), he may be a store supervisor for all I know, and he asked for my receipt and email. After saw the receipt he said that the exchange can only be done within 14 days after the purchased. I answered that I know that, but I also waited for the Sephora to reply my email. Then he tried to check the email's legality. He questioned why the email was sent from gmail address while Sephora Indonesia's email address was xxx @ sephora.co.id

I showed him the twitter reply where I got the email. Then he had the audacity to said that the twitter account was not Sephora Indonesia's official twitter account and I might have been communicating with fake account. He even said ".... because there are lots of fake account, even haters... etc etc". I prompt him to check the @SephoraID twitter timeline/feed. If it's a fake account, that twitter won't be able to post from @SephoraIDN instagram account, right? He even insisted that Sephora Indonesia's twitter account is @SephoraIDN. He even said that "I can call the office and make sure....blabla...". I showed him search on twitter for @SephoraIDN which resulted in NO ACCOUNT found.

I asked him to go call the office because I'm pretty sure that it is the official account and it wasn't fake/doppengangger account that emailed me. So he went for 5-10 minutes and came back and told me that he had confirmed to the office that that email is indeed from Sephora and Sephora twitter account is indeed @SephoraID, while the instagram is @SephoraIDN, and I can exchange the product this time.

In the end I was able to exchange the product, so thanks to Sephora Indonesia for that. I just wanna share the story, that's all. Thanks also to the nice BA girls at the cashier :)
